Real help

To the caring, advocating and kind souls who are feeding and clothing those who are homeless on the streets of Ocean Springs: Take these people into your home, let them sleep under your roof with your family, and when their successful rehabilitation comes to a close, take them to a job interview. It’s the best way you can help them. Yes. Someone had to go there.

Not for the people

I disagree with the sound off that the electoral college represents the voters. When the chosen electors are or have been associates with political party committees and/or related to candidates, they are not representing the people. One person, one vote allows the votes of all voters to determine the outcome no matter where they live.

Fake forest

The author conjured up his own forest. Socialism is a far cry from communism. We’ve been using it for primary education (K-12) for nearly 200 years without affecting our government. Republicans use the word as a bogeyman to mask their paucity of attention to citizens while doting on business. If it benefits the masses, it’s (gasp) socialism. The lady had a valid point in comparing our current situation with Germany in the 1930’s. An elected president of its democracy managed to become a ruler of its autocracy.

Not the same

I am once again saddened by someone comparing Trump to Hitler. Trump is only exercising the presidential powers given to him by the Constitution and also used by past presidents. People who continue this false comparison are only repeating talking points. Those are the enablers. Most Trump haters know nothing about Trump, but only believe the propagandaliberals. Do not fear Trump. Fear this country turning into a socialist then communist country.

Leaders afraid?

The Sound Off entitled “Your history” is really good. I’m glad it was written by a person with firsthand knowledge. Many of us who know how the Nazi Party was formed see many similarities. The tactics, down to personal mannerisms of the president, are exactly what Hitler did. The brainwashing and fears that prevails among our Republican leaders is so much right on the mark. They are afraid of our president.
