Scholarships for white students are being funded and awarded all the time. They don’t have to label it and they make sure a few token awards are given to non-whites so not to seem biased. This group’s purpose is to increase the number of black doctors. Wait, why do we keep having to explain this?

Fort Maurepas

Has anyone else noticed that the Fort Maurepas pavilion on Ocean Springs Front Beach resembles an episode of “The Walking Dead” every Thursday morning?

Off the books

In Mississippi, it isn’t that the rich aren’t paying enough taxes. Or, if that’s true, that’s not all of it. It’s that so many people are working “off the books” for cash. Wanna bet they are not paying taxes on those cash payments, even if they say they will? Have you tried lately to get household workers, handymen, sitters, etc., to work for you lately and agree to have you report their wages? Good luck.

Courage and fidelity

Integrity is the practice of being honest and showing an uncompromising adherence to strong moral, ethical principals, values, honesty, truthfulness in all one’s actions. Today I saw something in the impeachment hearings that renewed my faith in our American Democracy. Democrat Doug Jones of Alabama voted Trump “Guilty” knowing he was risking his seat. Republican Mitt Romney was the only Senator to vote “Guilty” for a president in his own party.

Romney, the new McCain with all the petulant bitterness and none of the medals.

See the forest

With all due respects to the lady from Germany, Trump has put a halt to our forced march to socialism/communism. Democrats have for years worked to accomplish Saul Alinsky’s eight steps to make a nation socialist. Remember Hitler disarmed Germany? All of the above want that same thing. Obamacare? It was designed to fail so the government would take over the medical industry. Step back from the trees so you can see the forest.
