Sound Off for Jan. 27, 2020

Competition

I don’t think those senators who are running to be elected president should be allowed to vote in the impeachment trial. They would be voting on their political opponent, to effect the upcoming election.

Loyalty

Lets recap: The Harrison County deputy tax collector is indicted for theft. The tax collector allows her to continue working until the media finds out she is still working. He then allows her to work as a volunteer until told she could not continue to work. And the only thing he says is “It was only $700.” Obliviously Mr. LaRosa’s commitment is to his deputy and not the people of the county.

Colorful

What’s with this? Where did this expression “people of color” come from? What happened to African American, Latino American, Native American, and all other cultural identifiers. Are they glad to give up their culture identification to become a generic all other? I don’t understand why an individual is willing to give their heritage.

Stop to think

“Vote your conscience” is a clever appeal to those who don’t stop to think. Reason trumps emotion. Every time.

Said or did

To “Vote your conscience,” I don’t know where your information came from but President Trump has said in rallies and speeches that he wants to fix our healthcare system. Never has he said he would get rid of pre-existing conditions, rather he emphasized he would keep that provision. Stop scaring people.

Localities

Come on! Let’s make sure your on-air personalities know that the correct pronunciation is “I ber ville” not “Ib er ville.” There is a distinct difference.

Strange cats

What happened to our animal control in Gulfport? Had strange cats and was told I had to catch them! What if they had rabies? Do you just shoot them? We use to have a wonderful animal control officer.

Hijacked?

Anyone that thinks the history exam requirement is not going to be removed as a condition of graduating high school in Mississippi must be living in a fantasy world. Just connect the dots of progression. The national education complex has been hijacked by the left. To accommodate the poor quality of instructors, the accountability challenges must be reduced, not increased. Less challenge for the student is the best way to make graduation numbers increase. Lastly, it is history. The left must eliminate history in order to advance socialist ideals. Republicans are not going to challenge education norms and Democrats are not going to release their grip.
