Sound Off for Jan. 26, 2020
Double dose
I thought the barrage of campaign commercials were irritating, but now the network radio and TV programming is awash with impeachment updates! I think we all need a break!
EPA is a joke
The Trump administration has lifted regulations against pollution and development of our waterways. Who do you think benefits from this? Donors! Wake up people!
Trial conduct
It is disgraceful how the Senate is conducting this so-called trial. Just the hours it is conducted so people can’t watch in itself gives the appearance of a cover-up. I, and most of the country, want to hear more witnesses and see the documents.
Same old song
The hearings now ongoing are doing nothing but rehashing the testimony heard at the House of Representatives one-sided carnival act of the last few months. Makes the November election choice a no-brainer. It’s the economy, stupid.
Trial?
Our current great government isn’t working so well right now. We are having an important trial going on right now with no evidence and no witnesses.
Where to send military
Africa and the Middle East are not immediate threats to us. Get our military out of there and send them to Central America and the Mexican border.
Man of faith?
How can any person of faith continue to support this president after reading this quote from Christianity Today. “But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.”
Hear ye, hear ye
I wonder how many would be left if Republican- and Democrat-leaning Senators, whose political affiliations demonstrate “confirmation bias” superseding their oath to render unbiased judgement, were not allowed to participate in Trump’s impeachment trial.
Fair coverage
I watched several national and public service TV stations covering hours of evidence in the impeachment trial. I then turned to Fox News. In the left side on a small screen they had the muted video of the impeachment speaker presenting evidence. On the other side there were three Fox pundits talking about how wrong the process is, disregarding the entire presentation. How disgraceful to not let the public hear the impeachment process.
