Sound Off for Jan. 12, 2020
No upside
I’m an old man and I have never done drugs, to include marijuana. You can take it to the bank — nothing good will come from legalizing another intoxicant. And the young and poor will catch the downside.
Sums it up
On one page, two articles sums it up. Plan to exempt “big” projects from environmental reviews, and easing of climate standards may expand drilling. I suspect the people standing around Trump in the picture were donors.
No real solutions
“Real Solutions” has wrong data, most likely alternative facts. Wood pellets that are being burned in Europe are a problem with emissions here in the U.S. where they are made not in Europe where burned. We are cutting our forests and emissions at the factories are making our people sick. The U.S. seems money-hungry no matter the cost to the unfortunate that live near those pellet factories.
Double standard
During Barrack Hussein Obama’s presidency, he authorized over 500 drone strikes killing more than 3700 people, over 500 of those were civilians. Obama told aides “turns out I’m really good at killing people. Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine.” I didn’t hear any complaints from the Democrats regarding Obama’s strikes. President Donald Trump ordered a drone strike killing one of the worlds worst terrorist leaders and the Democrats have lost their minds.
Not our battle
Now we have another war that Trump consulted with Saudi Arabia about first. Make no mistake, more troops are being deployed to the Middle East as you read this to fight Saudi's battles, not ours. It is being spun as for religious reasons but we all know that is false.
Tone deaf
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews compared the outpouring of apparent grief in Iran over Soleimani to the tragic death and loss of iconic figures like Elvis Presley and Princess Diana. It never occurs to him that this is largely the result of government forced displays and propaganda. How stupid and tone deaf can one uber-liberal really be?
Cable wars
Well Sparklight and WDSU are at a impasse. Overnight the channel was removed. Hmmm.
Lost or found?
I read the article about Jacob Cokely’s service dog Bella running away because of fireworks. Does anyone know if this angel has been found and returned to her home? I sure hope so. Bella has special abilities as a caretaker for type 1 diabetes that Jacob depends on.
Editor’s note: Yes, Bella was found on Monday and the story was updated online.
