Don’t lose it

The city of Biloxi needs to step up and make sure the Conference USA tournament stays in Biloxi. This an asset we cannot afford to lose!

Be careful

I love Bay St. Louis! We hang traffic lights and put up stop signs for art. Don’t worry – you do not need to use them – no one does. And one-way streets with “wrong way” signs are only to make sure you only go one way – does not matter which way! No place to park on a narrow street? No problem – just park in the middle. Everyone understands – they will back out or turn around in a manicured yard. And the speed limit signs? Well those are suggested minimum speeds. Be careful while enjoying the art scene in the Bay!

Can’t hurt

Why debate the cause of global warming? What harm can come from protections? Reduced gas emissions has improved our air quality. Cars are more efficient without big engines. Even the oil companies are investing in clean energy. We owe it our kids to lean toward the caution. Besides most kids are focused on environment anyway.

Hunter gatherers

I agree with “Debatable?” The earth warms and cools every few tens of thousands of years without human interference. Man-made carbon dioxide is a tiny fraction of all naturally occurring carbon dioxide. To eliminate this tiny fraction of greenhouse gases would set us back to when we were hunter/gatherers. It is not worth the effort and would not make enough difference anyway. We just have to adjust as best as we can.

Alcohol overload

Ready for Mardi Gras, and another reason for people to drink, drink and drink some more.

Set him free

Southern Miss football coach needs to be replaced. I always see him on the sidelines with his arms folded. Not very good body language.

Price vs. quality

My wife and I went for lunch at a restaurant recently. We hadn’t eaten there in a few months but ordered what we enjoyed on many occasions in the past — half a shrimp po-boy and a cup of gumbo. We were disappointed in that the po-boy was smaller with noticeably less shrimp. We know costs are keep rising, it’s called inflation. But please don’t reduce quality to avoid raising the price. Trust in a restaurant is hard to get back once you lose it.

The draft

Given current administration, thought should be given by Americans to bringing back the draft. Its should be obvious that wars are no longer necessarily warranted wars. Iraq and Afghanistan are examples (remember neither of those was associated with 9/11). How many parents will be willing to send their children to war on whims of politicians (and not approved by Congress)?
