Bad game

Poor play by Brees and others and bad calls from the refs and still it was the Saints’ game to lose. They should have went for the touchdown instead of running time off the clock and settling for a field goal in hopes of an overtime win.

Fake?

According to the Associated Press “...(t)he NFL’s regular season ratings have gone up for the second straight year... .” Despite this fact, conservative radio commentators continue to say the league is losing its audience because of the national anthem controversy. Faced with facts, they try to defend their actions by calling the AP fake news.

Reform now

State officials and legislatures talk about reforming our state prison system, but that’s all it is, talk! We can’t lock everyone up. We need to implement a house arrest program for those who commit non-violent crimes. Some states contract with companies that do the house arrest monitoring much like your home alarm system is monitored. No one should be behind bars for crimes such as fines, bad checks, marijuana, or other similar offenses. It won’t be easy, but you have to start somewhere. You can’t keep kicking the can down the road.

Past time

Ok, Gulfport. The last time my meter was read was Nov. 12! My meter is not broken, works just fine. New people were hired, so let’s get this show on the road. Since last February, there has been one excuse after another for theses delays (i.e. new computer program, training, short-handed for meter readers, now it’s broken meters all over the place!) No more excuses! Maybe the utility commission needs to be notified about this fiasco!

Debatable?

This is to all the folks out there who believe that humans are causing climate change. I do believe the climate is changing (I usually vote Republican). But there are just as many scientists who say it is not caused by humans as those who say that it is. We are captives of the media unless you take the time to do your own research. We would be in a heck of a mess if global warming had not come along during the Ice Age! Look into the change in the earth’s orbit. Humans can’t effect that.

Kudos to the Waste Pro guys on our street. We had replaced a large section of privacy fence and cut up the old boards and put them out for pickup. You guys took all of it. Thanks again so much.

Baggage?

It is ecologically contrary to put decompostable leaves into a non-decompostable bag and deposit that bag in the ground.
