Sound Off for Dec. 20, 2019
Not just
I am appalled at what is taking place in the U.S. House of Representatives. The speaker has turned a difficult situation into a mockery. They have no support from others, just those in control of the House. She does not care about the citizens of our country. Our founding fathers would also be appalled if they were here to witness what is taking place. The money being wasted that could be used for improving our nation is very sad. Now she is holding the process in order to blackmail the U.S. Senate to do her bidding. This is not right or just.
The consequences
People dislike Trump because of his mean spirited and childish behavior and policies that are destroying this country. Nobody made him do any of those things or the offenses that caused him to be impeached. He is the only one responsible for his actions, and should man-up and accept the consequences.
Broke the law?
No matter what your party is, if you or I did what Trump did, we would have been put in jail already. No matter how you try to rationalize it, he broke the law. Why is everyone trying so hard to defend him? He would turn his back on you in a heartbeat.
Not working together
Shame on you Democrats. You are fiddling while Rome burns. There are vitally important global issues confronting America and instead of working with President Trump, you have spent three years and countless sums to obstruct him.
Changing times
The swamp is now a cesspool.
Election worries
The Democratic Party is worried about the Constitution, but wants to abolish the First Amendment and the Second Amendment. Along with the electoral college. They can't beat Trump and this haunts them.
One question
When renewing my driver’s license online a few days ago there was an option toward the end. It asked if the applicant would like to register to vote. My question to the DVM is this: Since illegal aliens somehow get Mississippi driver’s licenses, maybe by showing a utility bill with their name, and then renew online, does this make it legal for them to register to vote in our elections?
Pay it forward
Gulf Coast residents please help the Salvation Army reach its red kettle goal. If only 150 donors gave $1,000 each, their goal would be met. Please consider the Army if you are looking for a tax deduction for yourself or your business. The Salvation Army came through for us after Katrina. Let's pay it forward and give them a Christmas miracle.
