Sound Off for Dec. 1, 2019
Take action
If the Old Miss coach doesn't throw that clown off the team, then he should be fired. It is time to put some discipline back into the game.
Look it up
Sacred? Black Friday? Really? Look up the definition please.
Not sacred
Shopping, my dear, was never sacred. Never will be. Now, can we talk about the birth of Christ?
Be careful
A reader laments the dilution of Black Friday by retailers who start sales too soon. Does no one realize the original "After-Thanksgiving Sale" has been totally obliterated by those who would erase any reference to God in print or in public? Thanksgiving is a unique American holiday set aside to give thanks to God. I used to wish merchants wouldn't use this day as a sales hook. I should have been more careful.
Poor officiating
Those part-time refs for the rich NFL are just a joke. Subjective, inconsistent and seemingly bias. Makes it hard to keep watching anymore. Pass interference and/or holding can be called on any play.
In trouble?
If our commander in chief, Donald Trump, is allowed to mess up the military as much as he has messed up the White House, we will be in trouble.
Clipping service
No, I don't believe coaches read the Sound Off column, but most organizations employ a clipping service which gathers information on public opinion and sentiment for their perusal.
Alternative facts
The reader who asked about Biden’s alleged spending of federal money was only searching for facts. If the Sound Off entitled “not surprised” is so informed about Biden’s misuse of “federal money,” why not let everyone know his source? Or, maybe in his/her world only “alternative facts” count.
Old saying
An old saying, “don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see,” is very appropriate today. I’m amazed that most are choosing to ignore what they actually see and only believe what is tweeted. You’re being had.
Praying for you
What he really said was, “Roughly half the population can accept factual information whether they like it or not.” You are clearly not in that half of the population and I also pray for you everyday.
Cut the grass
The grass at historic Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs has not been mowed in months. My trips to my family site has incited me to call the mayors office at least four times. Despite being informed that the mowing would occur, nothing has happened.
