A great person

I just read the wonderful letter of thanks from the family of recently deceased Lloa Beard. It was as touching and heartfelt as the obituary itself. I worked at the post office with Ms. Beard for many years beginning in the early 1980s. She was as fine a person as there ever was. She always had a smile and never a discouraging word. Although I do not know the other family members, they are obviously cut from the same cloth. That they would take the time and effort to express their gratitude is a tribute to her.

Must be true

You quote exact poll numbers as if they are fact. What you really said is half of the population believes everything they read. Well then, it must be true.

Political theater

Prior to the election, Democrats said Donald Trump wasn’t a real candidate. Immediately after the election, they decried President Trump as illegitimate. They vowed to oppose him completely, and impeach him. They have charged at both goals incessantly for three years. Now, they vow to continue investigating him via the House Intelligence and Judiciary committees, regardless of whether they forward articles of impeachment to the U.S. Senate. Make no mistake, it’s all political theater manufactured by Democrats who cannot conceive of any Republican holding the White House, least of all Trump.

Fix the sign

Dear highway department: I was walking on the beach this morning west of Cowan Road and see that the hurricane evacuation route signs were replaced by a Gulfport sign with arrows to a golf course, a community college and an industrial park. Please tell me that the only access to Interstate 10 in Gulfport besides U.S. 49 will again have hurricane directions pointing north. This is very important. Most South Mississippi residents know the road, but not our thousands of visitors to out great Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Not surprised

I am not surprised that you have no idea about the Biden controversy because the only thing the press will say about it is "there is no evidence of wrongdoing." I won't burden you with the details, because then you might be able to form an opinion of your own.

What gives?

Can anyone tell me why California burns year after year? I can recall for the last 50 years it burns every single year. Is it climate change, bad luck or bad leadership?
