The right way
The poem on the base of the Statue of Liberty was written in 1883 to welcome legal immigrants into our country. No country can remain sovereign if it allows open borders. There is a legal way to enter our country. Crashing through our border is not the way. If you want these unfortunate families to come here, you can become a sponsor by contacting numerous agencies.
So, you want the highway grass mowed, but you don’t want it mowed because of all the litter hidden in the long grass that gets chewed up and exposed? And somehow you’ve determined the lotto will solve that and every other problem. You’re confusing.
Pick it up
Watched two city employees check a trash can and then drive around trash on city property without stopping and picking it up. Sad day in the Bay.
I was about to enter a local bank behind the woman who preceded me when she marched right in and let the door slam in my face. If I, a man, had done the same thing to a woman, I would have been labeled a boor. It seems that she thought her behavior was quite acceptable.
Following the law
We drove hundreds of miles on NE Pacific Coast highways this past summer. As a rule the cars up there move back into the right lane as soon as they have passed on the left. They follow the law. I can only hope and dream that our locals drivers will soon do the same someday. It is so much safer and less stressful.
Those that are immature and have been pouting since November 2016 are the ones causing the division in this nation, not President Trump. Grow up and act like mature adults and stop having a hissy fit because you didn't get your way.
Now, I’ve seen it all: A political ad for a candidate seeking to represent the people of one of the poorest states in the union. There she is, shoveling manure on her cattle farm ... dressed in a designer denim outfit. A real representative of the people.
I doubt Ivanka Trump’s visit to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center accomplished much. If she really wanted to see a picture of education in much of our state, she should have visited some schools in the Mississippi Delta.
Fix the lights
We've had another person killed crossing U.S. 49 in Gulfport. There are seven lights along the east side that aren't working. They have been out since the last person was killed. Why don't the businesses or the city of Gulfport call them into the power company?
