Unsafe sidewalk!

Regarding the beach sidewalk on U.S. 90 near the Waffle House by Broad Avenue — Gulfport should be ashamed of themselves for not roping off where the sidewalk drops about 2 feet. At night, this is dangerous. I see a lawsuit in your future. It should be fixed immediately.

What about responsible gun owners?

The cities with the most restrictive gun laws have the most shootings. Chicago, for example. How is gun control working there? The media never prints stories about crimes being stopped by responsible gun owners.

Things change

In the 1960s, my generation took to the streets because we wanted “peace and love” in the world. Today our grandchildren are taking to the streets because they want to “not be killed.”

Please explain

Can somebody explain to me why students are missing school to protest at the White House about current gun laws, when they never did that for any of the past school shootings during the Obama administration?

Just achieve

Please stop using the word “overachiever.” No person can overachieve. You achieve that which you are capable of doing. A person can underachieve, but a person cannot overachieve! Correct me if I am incorrect.

Why no mail?

Can someone tell me why on Presidents Day/Washington’s Birthday, the banks were open, school buses ran but no mail was delivered?

A no-show?

Nelly has been accused of sexual harassment and assault. Why hasn’t the show at MGM Park been canceled?

Lost

Has anyone seen, or might possibly know the whereabouts of Rep. Steven Palazzo? He must be hiding, because he certainly can’t have a town hall meeting with his constituents. We might hurt his feelings. Steven, you keep hiding — it’s a long time until November. Meanwhile, we will find a true representative of the people.

A fast one

While watching the two-man bobsled event at the Olympics, I noticed the guy in the backseat ducks down out of sight while they are going down the track at close to 80 mph. Is that to decrease wind resistance or because he is afraid to look? I know which it would be for me.
