Must be tough times at the Vatican. Read in the papers that the Cardinals hired a new coach.

Please explain

To “Please explain,” I giggle reading your Sound Off as I myself ponder, while sitting outside near my recently lit fire pit enjoying the cool crisp air, why the firewood I used came with a warning in its packaging: “Caution: Flammable.”

Boring!

New England may be America’s team but their games are some of the most boring football games ever played. Another boring Super Bowl let’s hope the commercials are exceptional this year

Fired!

Congress should all be fired for incompetence. The rest of us lose our jobs when we don’t perform. Maybe we should see how long we can do without them. We might find they are absolutely unnecessary.

I wonder

I wonder if during the shutdown the congressional golf course, senate diner and congressional lounge were shut down while our military are not allow to watch football or get paid.

Not news

Another front page story-line about the state flag. Sun Herald is determined to sell us on a new flag for the state. A week or so ago it was one person taking exception to the flag and getting front page coverage. Monday it was one person getting credit for coming up with a new design. It has been pointed out by others in Sound Off that our flag doesn’t have an impact on visitors to the state. So, how about using the front page for more newsworthy events and use your editorial for your attempt to replace our flag.

Help!

Angel Kibbler-Middleton, please use your magic to get Robinson Road between Old Highway 49 and Canal Road newly paved. It is really getting bad and not always convenient to go another way. All the heavy rains we have had in recent months have really made it a danger to traverse. There are so many potholes, it is getting to the point that it is as bad as Canal Road was before you were able to get it resurfaced. Thank you for helping us out in Orange Grove.
