Let us Sound Off

So, after the amazing win in Alabama's Senate race, Democrats, jumping for joy, sent in dozens of Sound Offs, but the Sun Herald was supposed to skip those and print only sour grape comments from Republicans? Dems and Independents are Americans, too — and even we are allowed to Sound Off.

Back with vengeance

I don’t get it. Months ago the group trying to get a candidate elected called my home. At that time I politely asked them to remove my number from their list. Since then, they call my home constantly, waking me up, disturbing my meals, and just being a nuisance. I hope their candidate realizes that there is no way I would vote for him after all this. If someone wants my vote, don’t call my home constantly expounding about your virtues or wanting me to participate in a “brief” survey.

Win-win situation

For "Rotten Deal," how about trying local farmers markets for fresh produce? There are many on the Coast. Biloxi's Market is on Howard Ave under the I-110 bridge on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Not only can you find plenty of fresh produce, you're helping local growers. It's a win-win situation.

Staying out of it

I don’t watch sports often anymore, or attend concerts, or go to movies, or watch television entertainment shows, or buy a lot of products anymore. Mostly because of the constant interjection of politics and social indoctrination. I’m not boycotting these things, I’m simply finding other venues where I can escape the nonsense and relax my brain for a while. Guess I’ve finally tuned in and dropped out of social and entertainment media. Think I’ll go plant some flowers and a tree.

Watch your pets

I would like to warn people with small pets that there are coyotes in Biloxi. One got our dear cat Friday night. Don't let small pets out by themselves at night.

How about Long Beach?

I noticed the Sun Herald reported millions of dollars of building and construction going on in all coastal cities except Long Beach. What is the problem?

A shame

“It’s a shame what’s happened to the FBI,” says Trump. No, the shame is what’s happened to the presidency.

Banned words

The Trump administration yesterday banned the use of seven words to be used in and spoken of in official documentation. How did this great country get to this, where one man can dictate our words? This is not the country we of the Greatest Generation fought and died for.
