Plum fabulous!

The Nutcracker Ballet at the Beau Rivage was fabulous.

Show bands

I am all for showing the bands at half-time in football games. They work hard for what they do and deserve to be shown. My favorite was Ohio State spelling out their name.

Too much

I love college football, but it’s becoming too much like a business. One coach is going to make $75 million over 10 years. That’s ridiculous. Seventy-five million? Really?

Blinkers, please!

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth. Oh no, I am too old for that. All I want for Christmas is for all the people driving a vehicle to use their turn signals. Thanks!

Why are lights out?

The lights on the Bay Bridge are out. The Pass Christian side is beautifully lit. Hey, Bay St. Louis. How come?

Great show!

I was in the Friday night audience at the Mary C. Cultural Center for their Mary Christmas Spectacular. And that it was! Kudos to the many great performers, the director and his crew. The young man who played Scrooge was a hoot!

Dear Santa:

We wish our county ‘Mothers and Fathers’ (our supervisors) would check their Naughty and Nice Christmas List and see if there is enough money available to re-pave old Highway 49 (the one that Saucier-Lizanna road intersects) all the way from the turn off at 49 south to the McHenry border. Anyone out there agree?

Way to go, E.C.!

I would like to give a great big kudos to the East Central Hornets football team and coaching staff. Even though you fell short in the state championship game you gave this community something we have not had for a long time. A championship-quality team. Thank you for all of your hard work.

Driver’s ed?

Do they still require some type of driver’s education to get a license? It’s beginning to seem as though they hand out licenses to anyone who can see over the dash. I’m not angry, but I am finding my old self driving much more defensively these days. When I was a youngin’ back in the days long before texting and indoor plumbing, getting a driver’s license was at least a six-month ordeal of classes, practicing, testing, watching mind-altering films and more testing to obtain that coveted license. Just wondering.
