Sound Off for October 7: A creative idea for your old Waste Pro can

Waste Pro lost the contract for garbage and recycling collection in Harrison County and all of its cities except Gulfport, but the company hasn't come to pick up all of its cans. Residents of Edgwater Park in Biloxi have the cans and bins out waiting for pickup, as do customers in other localities.

Please explain

Seems strange that with all the criticism of I-10 interchanges along the Coast, Diamondhead’s is always pristine. Why is that?

When to kneel

I’m not a sports fan, but my recollection is that Tim Tebow took a knee when there was a successful play, not during the national anthem.

Can disposal

Here’s what you do with your old Wastepro can — cut it up and put it in the new can — or better yet in the new recycle can since it’s plastic. Problem solved!

They don’t care

Apparently the Mississippi State flag didn’t hurt our image with Cruisers. Thanks to all who showed they really didn’t care.

Really?

They mentioned on the news that there were more than 700 RV’s along the beach in Biloxi. Don’t want to sound like a spoiled sport but does that mean Scraping The Coast and spring breakers can bring their campers and camp anywhere they like also for a week?

Proper protest

I also agree with “Let’s get serious.” Whenever POTUS or his family gets negative publicity, POTUS uses the media to divert the attention to someone or something else besides himself and family. If you want to protest the administration, protest the Trump administration and leave the flag and other such things alone.

Pay attention

In the last half an hour I have watched two 18-wheelers cross over the railroad tracks at Hopkins Avenue in Biloxi. Clear as can be are two big signs that say low ground clearance on either side of the tracks. And yet the truck still go over the tracks. What is wrong with these drivers?

Trash talk

This is Thursday and Tuesday was the first day of our garbage and trash pickup from Team Waste and Pelican Waste for our subdivision. The garbage was picked up early Tuesday morning. There was no recycle, yard waste or bulk trash pickup. We still do not have recycle carts due to a production problem, but we were told to use the old bins. I have called Team Waste and been told that the recycle will be picked up. Cannot get through to Pelican Waste as their line is always busy. Called HCUA and their response was that they will contact the companies. Hopefully this will be corrected before the storm comes in this weekend and blows all the trash around.
