Just beginning

Oh me, oh my, oh horrors! There’s a storm approaching the western Gulf! Do you think that Allstate, State Farm, USAA and Nationwide still remember how to cut claim checks after 12 years of depositing overcharged premiums? Their accountants must be losing sleep over this development!

No reminder needed

Yes, the ’80s were a turbulent time in the City of Biloxi and the Biloxi Police Department. As a retired BPD officer, I am not looking forward to the upcoming movie based loosely on the Sherry murders. A former football player as the “good cop” in a corrupt department? No thank you. Let’s hope it just dies for lack of almost anything.

College coaches

With all the dissent about CEO compensation, where is the dissent about what college football coaches are paid — Dabo Swinney at Clemson goes from $900,000 in his first year in 2009 to $6.6 million in his current contract. Nice raise!

Short-term fix

Medical professional recruitment is surely a short-term fix at the Bethel Free Clinic. However, I suggest a more protracted solution would necessitate our elected representatives expand and accept federal support to Medicaid in Mississippi and tweak current federal Affordable Healthcare (Obamacare).

Obamacare

An excerpt from article about free clinic: “so people without health insurance ... won’t have to go without health care.” Thought everyone had insurance under Obamacare? Guess you can’t believe everything you read.

Worse than before

I-10 from Ocean Springs to D’Iberville was mowed trash and all. It now looks worse than before mowing. Someone should be tasked with trash pickup prior to mowing. How about prisoners or welfare recipients without jobs.

Problem lights

While I know it would be impossible to synchronize all the traffic lights due to the many variables, couldn’t they fix say three lights in a row? I’d bet near 1,000 cars are stuck at a red light looking at a green light that nobody goes through between Renoir, Caillavet streets and the parking garage.

Sink hole

Welcome back From Cuba, Fofo, maybe now you can get out and see the traffic congestion on Pass Road at Eisenhower Blvd. caused by the sink hole and the sign that’s been there two weeks now. What a traffic jam.

Intimidation

Donald Trump, during the St. Louis debate, was trying to physically intimidate Hillary Clinton in close quarters in a very public situation — a rather obvious sexist tactic. If you have a negative reaction to seeing her face on television, turn your head or turn the knob.
