Cash flow

Good ratings have more to do with cash flow.

Tune out

Had enough of politics and the media. Maybe I should sell my TV. If it wasn’t for ESPN, I just might.

Great letter

Kudos to Ray Howze. His letter to the editor was excellent.

Bad movies

Wish they still made good movies at the movie theater. You know it’s bad when the best movies out are Spider Man and Planet of the Apes.

Get it here

In response to “I Scream for ice cream” (Sunday), there is still Dairy Queen. They have awesome soft-serve ice cream.

Great life story

I just finished reading the article on Elsie Barnes. What a remarkable life she has lived. She touched the lives of so many young people with her music teaching. She has also touched many lives with her being a ministry. God bless Elsie Barnes.

Thank you!

To the nice woman who gave us her unused box seat tickets to the July 4 Shuckers game, my wife and I wish to thank you. Your act of unselfishness was for us, actually an act of kindness. My father had died the previous Tuesday, which is why we were home. We were on our way leaving the stadium because we couldn’t get to seats together when you happened upon us and gave us the tickets. Thanks to you, the game and fireworks gave us a much needed respite from the grief we had been going through. This old trucker thanks you.

It’s complicated

There are homeless shelters on the Coast. The bigger issue is that some of the homeless won’t follow the rules that are required by the shelters. Another issue is the segment of the homeless population that have mental issues and don’t want to be anywhere more than where they are. So it’s not as simple as needing homeless shelters.

Tune in

In reference to the person who said TV is not good anymore when our only choices are Steve Harvey, etc., may I suggest you switch to DirecTV. I have 145 channels with entertainment such as: Free Copper Pan; Amazing New Copper Pan; Cook with no flame; Cooking Made Easy; Tummy Tuck and many other similar channels to choose from.
