Sound Off: Coast is ‘choking’ on seafood and Mexican joints

Help here

In response to the person who wanted to help with Feed My Sheep on Sundays: I know several Gulfport churches have been providing meals on Sundays for years. I am a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 14344 Dedeaux Road, and we provide sack lunches the first Sunday of every month for the people at Feed My Sheep. If you would like to be part of this ministry, please arrive at the church at 8:30 a.m. to help pack lunches. We deliver them after worship service ends at noon. All are welcome to be part of this important service to the needy in our community. If you would like to see more of what we do, please follow us on Facebook.

Missed out

So sorry to see the Toronto Blue Jays didn’t make it to the World Series! It would have been very entertaining to see the pitchers throw “snowballs” when the World Series swung to Canada. The famous slide into second base during a double play could have wound up in center field. That would have been exciting. The fans sitting in the stands with their fur-lined parkas and triple-layer clothing would leave them wondering if they really wanted to be there. And, of course, we’d see the baseball commissioner sitting in a box seat with a short-sleeve shirt. Maybe next year.

Protect and serve

Just watched the video of the police officer who rushed to the aid of the little boy who had stopped breathing. Now that’s a real hero. This is why I support police officers.

Diner, please

For the love of Mike, will some forward-looking entrepreneur please open up a Biloxi restaurant that specializes in good old diner-style Southern food? We are choking on seafood and Mexican joints.

For the children

I agree wholeheartedly with “Fo-Fo” that we need more family activities and fewer casinos on the Coast. Quit being greedy, Mississippi, and do something for our youngsters.
