SCENES FROM THE BEACH | by George Thatcher / MAY 15, 2016
Ah, the wildflowers of spring -- they brighten our days! It seems like only yesterday that the weedy patches by the beach road were devoid of green. Now they are not only green but also spiced with wildflowers. Broadcast by autumn winds, seeds (which are now wildflowers) led a perilous life. They were frozen on cold days, watered in wintry rains and warmed by the sun, finally exploding into the miracle of new life. Today, we are the beneficiaries of their trauma. Ah, wildflowers! -- Diary, spring 2016
