The Gulf Coast Chapter of Children’s International Summer Village just finished its month-long event with more than 70 children, teenagers and adults from around the world living in North Woolmarket Middle School.
Lauren Rackley, director of the village, did an outstanding job running the the program 24 hours a day for four weeks! She is to be commended for volunteering her time and commitment to this worldwide peace organization. In a world of misunderstanding, terror and the need for peace, CISV provides the opportunity to understand other people and different cultures and to make friends for a lifetime.
Each leader from the 12 countries bragged about Lauren’s ability to lead them for the month. On behalf of our chapter, I thank her and her family, all volunteers, individuals and organizations who made it so special for our guests. I also would like to thank Marshall Van Loon and his family for what they did three years ago in the village held at Bayou View Middle School in Gulfport.
To everyone who has been a part of this program throughout the past 50-plus years, please continue to support our chapter. Thank you again to everyone who made this village so successful.
Kiitos, tack, merci and gracias!!
