Politicians deserve a shake-up

The world’s politicians are in for a surprise, starting with Greece and Great Britain.

The working people are tired of the political pandering to those who take advantage of the political system. Citizens and illegal immigrants take advantage of every conceivable program passed by politicians in the name of charity.

These do-gooder politicians in the U.S. put the financial burden on the backs of working Americans and place the country deeply in debt. It is time for U.S. voters to elect new officials, who aren’t politicians, at all levels — local, state and federal.

There is no logical or reasonable explanation why those who choose not to work should receive lavish and unnecessary benefits, such as a free cell phone, that is paid for with taxes collected from those who work. I do not see any starving people, but I do see undernourished and overweight people who eat packaged, garbage food.

Free medical care (Medicaid) overloads hospitals and clinics, and everyone should have to pay something to prevent needless trips to medical facilities.

The government should provide good wholesome food, and people on government programs should be drug tested.

Citizens are entitled to free education and the right to work, nothing more. Elected officials who get convicted of a crime should get double the normal penalty because they abused the public’s trust, but most get a lesser penalty at a country club penal facility.

I cannot find an engrossed bill in congress or the state Legislature that addresses these issues, so ask your elected officials why.
