Brokered conventions strip citizens of rights

In my opinion, there shouldn't be a brokered convention for any election regardless of political party affiliation.

A brokered convention takes away the rights of the citizens to select a candidate of their choice by voting. We are losing our rights as American citizens left and right. We cannot stay silent any longer.

The people are supposed to have the right to select the candidates in all elections. It is not the right of the government or any group of politicians to ignore the will of the people. Our government is supposed to be a "government of the people, by the people, for the people."

In my opinion, if the Republican Party insists on a brokered convention in this upcoming election, the GOP will implode. I think a great many voters will also choose to unseat Republican senators and representatives in office as well as new candidates running for office.

We will no longer have a two-party system. I suggest we contact our elected officials and let them know how we feel about this brokered convention business. What type of government would we have if this is allowed to go forward? A dictatorship?

It is time for us to be vocal and visible in a nonviolent way. Stand up for your rights, citizens, regardless of your party affiliation.
