I have never attended a more dangerous event than the Easter Egg Drop at MGM Park in Biloxi on March 20.
When I entered the field with my 5-year-old daughter, I was separated from her by a police officer.
The children stampeded into the field, knocking each other over and disappearing into the frenzy. Some adults were allowed onto the field, but others were not. Anyone could have grabbed my child and walked out of there. I have never been so terrified in my life. I could not find my child, and the police could not help me. In fact, as one officer was asked who organized the event, he just shook his head and walked away.
Someone needs to take the responsibility of organizing these events so that children are kept safe.
