As a retired Mississippi State industrial engineer who has lived on the Gulf Coast for more than 70 years, I've been trained to be skeptical and dig for facts.
I'm concerned about those who want to make major changes to human existence with their "fixes" to the theory of global warming.
According to Patrick Moore's "What they haven't told you about climate change" prageru.com article, global temperatures and carbon dioxide levels do not show a strong correlation to one another over the course of many years. Also, there are lengthy periods when the two are completely out of sync with each other, and that's because the science is not settled.
But look at solar irradiance where there is a close correlation to temperature. According to John L. Casey's book "Dark Winter: How the Sun is Causing a 30-Year Cold Spell," solar irradiance has been decreasing over the past few years during this "pause" in global warming.
I remember the global cooling scare of the '50s, '60s and '70s. John L. Casey also suggests the Earth is headed into another period of global cooling.
Remember the "imminent disasters" that Al Gore said would happen by 2016? As anyone who lives on the water knows, Gore's 2006 warning about increasing sea levels was unfounded. He also said there would be massive flooding in India and China, but that didn't happen either. And again, the increasing ice at the Earth's poles contradicts Gore's claim that the ice would be melting there by now. I could go on, but you get the point.
What's happening? People are making money from global warming. Al Gore's business in carbon credit has made millions. Let's just relax until we have definite proof of what's happening.
