ALICE JONES: Thanks for the like-minded sentiments

Amen to Mr. Vermeulen's letter about the real reason to celebrate Christmas.

Over the past several years, this sacred season has been turned into a secular one by some businesses and schools ignoring or downplaying its true meaning.

I'm thankful there are still churches and some schools that teach the biblical truth. And I'm thankful for stores like Lifeway Christian Store that proclaim the true meaning of Christmas.

Jesus is the reason for the season. He was born on Earth, sent by God his father, to save people from their sins. He's not a myth or a fairy tale.

Someday, everyone will know. Celebrate Jesus, the life-giving reason for Christmas.
