MYRLIN MAUFFRAY: Thank you for the heartfelt Veterans Day breakfast

I was prompted to write this letter because I received a card from a student thanking me for my service to our country and for attending the breakfast served for veterans, but it also said, "You are truly appreciated."

I wanted to say thank you to the West Wortham Elementary School for hosting the breakfast on Veterans Day. This breakfast was professionally prepared and catered for us by O'Charley's and paid for by the Parent Teacher Student Association.

This breakfast was one of the best I have ever eaten. The cafeteria was full of veterans and their spouses, and the school has a very large cafeteria. The students seated us and brought us whatever we wanted to drink. They were very respectful and acted like they couldn't do enough for us. The PTSA even arranged for a flag corps to march in and post the colors while we stood at attention.

Thank you so much to West Wortham Elementary School's PTSA for your hard work and dedication to raise enough money to pay for this, and to the principal, Mr. Cuevas, for allowing this to be at the school. Also, thanks to everyone who took part in this event to make it as successful as it was.
