Pass the bill

Especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, lymphedema patients must have the medical supplies they need to safely manage their condition at home.

The Lymphedema Treatment Act (S.518/H.R.1948) is a bipartisan bill that will improve insurance coverage for medically necessary, prescription compression supplies.

Without this central component of treatment, lymphedema patients are at significantly increased risk of infection and hospitalization.

With more than 450 cosponsors, the Lymphedema Treatment Act is the most supported healthcare bill in Congress and should be passed into law this year.

Poor choice?

I applaud the redesign of Mississippi’s flag, but I’m appalled by the requirement to include the outdated phrase “In God We Trust.”

This is not, and was never intended to be, a “Christian nation,” and such verbiage is a slap in the face to every citizen of this state who is not a practicing Christian.

The phrase smacks of 1950s smug WASP superiority, when it rose in popularity and was included on our coins.

It denies the losses so many citizens of this state experience, from hurricane damage to coronavirus business closures.

Besides, what does that phrase have to do with the history or natural qualities that distinguish Mississippi from other states?

We should be choosing a flag that represents the best this state has to offer to all, not just the few who choose to sit each week in a certain religious pew.

Trump’s re-election

This is to the person in Ocean Springs who’s not voting for President Trump in November and has 20,000 reasons not to.

This is typical response from one believing the “lies” of the media, those who say these “lies” are documented — but never name one. “They” say whoever controls the language controls the culture, and if people keep speaking the same thing long enough, people believe them. Well, that theory isn’t working any longer. The truth is being found out.

We see what our president has accomplished, even with the wolves nipping at his heels. He could have done so much more to boost America if the left/liberals/progressives/Deep State would stop interfering. Donald J. Trump has been given an assignment to drain the swamp, and the swamp dwellers are fighting back, knowing they’re about to be exposed and brought to justice.

Read Isaiah 44 & 45 about God’s instrument, King Cyrus, and look at what he was called to do. God calls him, “His anointed, whose right hand He is holding (meaning to strengthen)—to subdue nations before him and loose the armor of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut. He will go before him to make the crooked places straight and break the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron (humble the great ones of the earth)…God called him by name, and named him...”

The final word spoken by the Lord, Isaiah 45:13, declares, “I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways; he shall build my city and let my exiles go free, not for price nor reward...” Cyrus reigned for 8 years, and I believe President Trump will remain in office for four more years.
