Views from readers: Trump + energy prices + truthful reporting
Pay the teachers
My letter is about Shad White’s commentary in the June 28 paper.
Mr. White wrote a very informative article. I hope he’s able to find and correct the areas of too much money spent on administrative costs rather than on the needs of teachers. The teachers are on the front line and have daily contact with students. Our teachers are not paid nearly enough and should never need to buy supplies personally.
I simply can’t understand why we pay our state superintendent over $300,000. That’s outrageous.
Keep up the good work Shad. You will make a difference and help our schools.

Energy prices
The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that energy prices for wind and solar have decreased and now are cheaper per watt hour than coal or natural gas.
The rapid expansion and interconnection of the grid allows these plants to reliably feed electricity to the existing power grid; adding to and exceeding the energy produced by fossil fuel plants. This is due both to the free power provided by wind and solar and lower operating costs than coal and natural gas plants.
Time to leave fossils in the ground.

Please try and print the truth.
It will take us far and improve our ability to communicate as a nation.
As it stands, the articles in the Sun Herald are often one sided.
If you are truly a journalist, make it known along party lines. Thank you.

Name calling
Our current president labels our previous vice president, “Sleepy Joe.”
Many think this is clever, saying “if the shoe fits, wear it.”
Others say “turn about is fair play,” and suggest any one of the following: Devious Donald, Delusional Donald, Deceitful Donald, Deranged Donald, Dangerous Donald, or Dubious Donald.
With politics being the only non-physical contact sport, we should bear in mind the old saying of “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”
