The Democratic Party
With the inception of the “sexual revolution” of the 1960s, the “hippie” movement and “free love,” we commenced a dramatic change in our sexual morals.
Much of the clergy abuse we read about occurred in the following two decades and, more significantly, the birth control pill and abortion began their pervasive inception in our national life. A great moral shift in our sexual morals and the unspeakable horror of the 60,000,000 plus abortions we have suffered since.
The pro-life movement was born to oppose all of this and our political parties began their involvement in the controversy. To its credit, despite other shortcomings, the Republican Party and its president have come out ever more favorably in behalf of human life in the womb.
The Democrat Party, unfortunately, is pro-abortion. There are, of course, some Democrats who are pro-life.
The time has come for them, I submit, to infuse their beliefs back into the party. At present, after three years of shameful opposition to the current administration, the party is in a mess. We need a healthy Democrat Party.
I hope and pray, with many others, that we will now commence to see an invigoration of the party by members who appreciate the importance of all human life, especially the most vulnerable among us.

Some advice
Given the situation, make a list when grocery shopping.
Move through the store, get your items and move on. There’s people standing outside waiting on you to leave.
No browsing or long conversations please.
Thanks for realizing we all need food. God bless America.

Equal America?
A reporter at a Bernie Sanders rally recently asked a young supporter what she wanted for Americans. Her answer was, “An equal America for everybody, and that’s what I’m about.”
I didn’t understand what she meant, and many questions about an “equal America” entered my thoughts.
What does that mean, is that question the focal point that leads many to reject our American values?
For example, was I focused on defending an equal America when I was in Vietnam for a year while my wife, worried about my safe return, sacrificed and cared for our two children here in this great America? I don’t think so.
My thoughts and focus were on supporting our great America that offered an equal opportunity to everyone, including my children and those after them. I also knew I was supporting those whose aspirations would take them to the limits of their visions and capabilities to advance themselves with that free opportunity, and to support this nation which offered that equal opportunity to all citizens.
Others around me knew they were defending that same thing: an equal and free opportunity; not an equal fair share. Many have given their lives to support the right of all Americans to have a fair share of opportunity, not a fair share of the rewards from others who use that opportunity as it was intended by our nation’s founders.
God bless America.
