Living life

This week, I have been shown, once again, that we’re not in control of anything, as a fairly young friend who was living his best life passed on.

He had everything to live for but could not pull through what ended up taking his life. He was healthy one day, and basically, the next day he was gone from this life. There was no long illness.

I do not care how engaged you are with life. We never know when we will take our last breath. He had everything planned for the foreseeable future and beyond. It makes no sense to me.

I am not trying to depress or scare anyone, yet merely trying to get people to ensure themselves that they are not waiting around or not enjoying life. If you are not living the life that you want, create it. I have gotten beyond a great deal, if not all, of what was holding me back. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

I implore you to not take your circle for granted and not wait until tomorrow to pursue your dreams. His death makes me want to go forward in my life, as I never have prior to this happening. My heart goes out to his family and other friends. His life and legacy will live on. I know he is in a better place. Thank you for your time.

Roe vs. Wade

Many of us dream of the day when, at long last, we will be rid of Roe vs Wade and the intolerable evil of abortion which hangs about our necks like a great millstone, drowning us with its evil effects.

There is nothing in our past, even the great sin of slavery, which compares with the 60,000,000 plus abortions for which we are responsible. When will we finally be free from this great evil?

In the 1960s or thereabouts a false feminism prevailed upon us to open the floodgates. “Reproductive Freedom” was the battle cry, but is there anything more unfeminine than destroying the miracle of human life in the womb, which God and nature have designed to create new human life?

I yearn for the day, as do many, many others, when our great Democrat Party abandons its advocacy of abortion and returns to its traditional goals of protecting the innocent among us.

Changes to Constitution?

Our recent experience with a presidential election indicates that a few changes to the constitution are desirable. The electoral vote system gave us a president who lost the popular vote and who violates the constitution at will.

The founders intended the electoral vote system to prevent an unqualified, but charismatic, candidate from being elected. Their fear was well founded. Newspapers were available only in a few large cities and most people were illiterate anyway. The electors were to over-ride the popular vote if they deemed it necessary. That intent was thwarted by state laws requiring electors to follow the popular vote and, in most states. giving the winner all of their electoral votes (two states apportion the electoral vote to the popular vote).

Today’s electorate is better educated and has ample access to news. The electoral college has become, at best, a rubber stamp. At worst - we’re seeing it.No CEO would be hired if his, or her, only qualifications were that he or she was native-born and al least 35 years old. Even candidates for policemen must pass mental-fitness tests. Candidates for president should pass similar tests and pass tests proving that they are well-versed in the constitution.
