The Second Amendment and the NRA

I am a U.S. congressman,

I can speak for all my peers.

Whenever there’s a shooting,

it reduces us to tears.

For a week or two

we’ll rant and rave

and pound the table, too.

It is all in frustration,

for there’s nothing we can do.

We’re bounded by amendment two

and by the NRA.

The first controls our actions

The other one, our pay.

For, you see, our jobs are forfeit

if we cross the NRA.
