Remembering when ...

I am thankful that at the age of 70 my hearing and eyesight are no longer what they used to be.

I would prefer to be unaware of the hateful rhetoric that is spoken when someone or something is “different” rather than analyzing it for any merit. I would prefer not to see the horrid destruction we have inflicted on Mother Earth and continue to do so.

I am thankful for my memory, which allows me to remember when people were kinder to each other and how beautiful our land once was.
