Letters to the Editor

How about a magnolia and a mockingbird on flag?

It is time for us to change the flag. It is not a voter issue and does not represent politics. It is the right thing to do based on the diversity of people in our state.

We in Mississippi have different ethnic groups and cultures. We all agree on certain likes and dislikes. Example in point, who would like receiving a big bonus check from their employer? Who would dislike getting tickets to a big event only to have your car break down on the way there? I think we could all agree on these two likes and dislikes.

The flag issue is one of like or dislike.

Now, we have a chance to change our flag. It is not the Civil War anymore and the 1800s. The flag should be put in a museum. The new flag should have a magnolia tree and a mockingbird and be white, gray, green and red (letters).

So that's my take on it.
