Signs as you enter Mississippi identify us as “The Hospitality State.” Growing weary of the debate over the state flag as it is, let’s develop new ideas to replace the top left corner depicting the cross arms of the Confederacy.
My idea would be to replace one of the angles with a lighthouse, the other three with outstretched arms of black, white, tan that met in the middle of the lighthouse intertwined in a grasp together. What a message from Mississippi that would say volumes to the world and the multiple racial groups of our state — and tie us into our motto.
