So $291K for another DMR boat? Really?
Instead of spending all that outlay money with out-of-state companies — not to mention the upkeep costs — why not take advantage of the fleet of charter boat captains all along the Coast who know where to fish, have the boats and could benefit from the money being used locally? And no upkeep costs for the DMR!
What happened to interagency cooperation? Use the DEA boats or Coast Guard boats. Every county has a huge boat already.
A register needs to be kept of how many days this boat is actually going to be on dry land, which any boater will tell you is not good for the life of the boat’s workings.
