Accomplishment?

Isn’t it great? President Biden visits China, and China signs an agreement to send panda bears to American zoos again. What an accomplishment.

The border

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the FBI warned this week that America is under increased risk of a terrorist attack. Duh! The southern border is literally wide open because of President Biden. Out of the other side of his mouth, Mayorkas continually says the border is secure. No other nation in the world presents such a leaky border to illegal immigration. We know hundreds from the global terrorist watchlist have been apprehended but how many got through? If you vote for Biden’s re-election, you are potentially co-signing the next terrorist attack.

No place

George Santos is a poor man’s Donald Trump. He can’t stop lying and cheating. No place in our government for either of them.

Burn ban

I generally put my trash in the can and my limbs on the curb and I have never felt the need to burn anything at my house. Another wise decision from the top will end the great suffering of our people, as the burn ban has been lifted. Who knew that a third of an inch of rain could eliminate all danger of an out of control fire?

Pay attention

Ramaswamy says he would randomly fire half of all government employees! VA, Keesler, and the rest of y’all need to pay attention to what these Republicans are saying. They are not stuttering.

Electric cars

If you want an electric car, buy one. Some point out the downside: price, charge time, charge station availability, reliance on China, etc. Many on the left, almost 50% of the country want to eliminate use of fossil fuels. If all of those used only solar power to provide electric to their homes and drove electric cars, we would be about half way to what they want. But, only a very small percent of those do. Drove to the Portland and Seattle area every year for almost 20 years, where those voices were the loudest. Saw massive miles of windmills in the Texas panhandle, very few in Oregon and Washington. Looked for houses out there with solar panels and hardly saw any. Actions speak louder than words.

The law

Every so often there is lively debate in Sound Off about slow moving traffic in the left lane. Rather than offer an opinion, I’ll quote state law 63-3-603. Notice the law makes no reference to posted speed limits, therefore if the normal speed of traffic in the left lane is greater than the speed limit, slower drivers should use the right lane and allow the left lane to be used for passing slower drivers. End of debate. The law: Official signs may be erected directing slow-moving traffic to use a designated lane or allocating specified lanes to traffic moving in the same direction, and drivers of vehicles shall obey the directions of every such sign.

Upon all roadways any vehicle proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing shall be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic, or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway, except when overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction or when preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway.
