Roads closed across Mississippi Coast after days of rain. Here’s the updated list

The following road condition updates were reported Thursday by counties across the Coast after days of rain.
Where available, city roads are listed under their respective counties. The roads listed are either impassable or should be avoided due to flooding. Information is being updated as it’s received from South Mississippi localities.
The National Weather Service advises that motorists should never attempt to drive across a flooded road.
“A mere 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock over an adult. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away most cars and just 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks,” the NWS says.
“It is NEVER safe to drive or walk into flood waters.”
Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter said his officers performed a high-water rescue on Hanover Drive in St. Martin.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports U.S. 49 remains closed in both directions due to dangerous water levels near the 10-Mile Creek Bridge, located near Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
