The Mississippi Coast typically experiences its hottest weather in July, and this year is expected to follow suit.

The Weather Channel forecast

According to The Weather Channel’s long-range forecast, residents can expect a predominantly hot and humid month. The only brief respites from the oppressive 90-degree heat will coincide with periods of rain.

Following Tuesday’s 89-degree, wet conditions, similar temperatures are predicted to return from Friday, July 11, through Sunday, July 13. However, this cooler, wetter spell will be short-lived, with temperatures soaring back into the 90s by Monday, July 14, signaling a return to the characteristic summer swelter.

Accuweather forecast

Adding another perspective to the July outlook, Accuweather’s predictions suggest more variability throughout the month, though still with a strong emphasis on high temperatures. They forecast 91-degree thunderstorms for both Tuesday and Wednesday, indicating early-month heat accompanied by potential for severe weather. Interestingly, Accuweather projects a sunny 88 degrees for Monday, July 14, a slight divergence from The Weather Channel’s prediction of 90s, but still indicating a very warm day. This minor variation highlights the nuances in different forecasting models but generally reinforces the expectation of high temperatures.

Old Farmer’s Almanac forecast

The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicted “hotter than normal” temperatures for the region. Their long-range forecast also introduces a significant concern for mid-July: the threat of a tropical storm.

The almanac’s extended forecast included threats of a hurricane by the end of August.
