Saturday, Oct 5: NHC’s update on Category 3 Hurricane Kirk

As per the National Hurricane Center's 11 pm Saturday update, the Category 4 hurricane Kirk has weakened into a Category 3 hurricane. Category 3 Hurricane Kirk is 1345 miles west-southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 115 mph. It’s moving 20 mph to the north.
"Weakening is forecast through early next week, but Kirk will remain a large hurricane for the next couple of days." meteorologists state.
Kirk has lost strength and has downgraded from a Category 4 hurricane to a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 115 miles per hour.
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND:
SURF: Swells generated by Kirk are affecting the Leeward Islands, Bermuda, the Greater Antilles, the Bahamas, and portions of the east coast of the United States. These swells are expected to spread northward along the east coast of the United States, Atlantic Canada on Sunday, and to the Azores on Monday. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
