A cold front will bring cooler temps to the MS Coast this week. Who’s making gumbo?

Some cooler-ish weather is coming, South Mississippi.

A cold front will arrive Monday night on the Mississippi Coast, according to the National Weather Service.

The front is coming from Northwest and there’s a 10% chance for rain in the area before 7 p.m. Monday.

The front will bring drier air with it through Thursday and low temperatures could drop to about 64 degrees, the NWS said.

While the front won’t bring frigid temperatures or chilly winds, it will mean less humid weather and give us a small break from the extrerme heat.

And for some in Deep South, cooler temperatures mean it’s time to make gumbo.

The Weather Channel meteorologist Scot Pilie’, who used to live and work in New Orleans, called this week’s cold front a “gumbo advisory.”

“Get ya dirty bird poultry, ya Cajun couldron, & make dat roux!” he said on Facebook.
