Seafood recalled at MS Costco stores due to Listeria contamination. See if you bought any
More than 3,000 pounds of Kirkland Signature brand Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke has been recalled from Costcos in Mississippi and 32 other states due to possible Listeria contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke was recalled after Manufacturer Western United Fresh Co., doing business as Annasea Food Groups, was notified that the green onions used in the product were contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to a Sep. 20 company announcement.
“We are continuing to work with our green onion supplier to determine the root cause,” the company said.
No illnesses have been reported as of Sep. 20, according to the release.

The Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke is packaged in a clear plastic clamshell container with the Kirkland Signature brand label and a pack date of Sep. 18, 2025 and a sell by date of Sep. 22, 2025, according to the release.

What to do if you bought this product
If you have the affected Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke, don’t eat it. Throw it away, then visit a local Costco for a full refund of the product, the company said.

What is Listeria?
Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause Listeriosis, a serious and sometimes deadly infection, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
About 1,600 people become infected with Listeriosis each year and about 260 die from the infection, according to the federal agency.
Young children, frail or elderly people and people with weakened immune systems are especially susceptible to the illness, according to the FDA. The illness “can also lead to serious pregnancy complications among pregnant women,” the FDA said.
