U.S. News & World Report has released its 2020 report ranking the best high schools across Mississippi.

Top-performing schools can be found at every corner of the Magnolia State, from Biloxi and Gulfport to Hattiesburg and Petal.

The national magazine publishes its rankings each year based on key indicators including college readiness, underserved student performance, graduation rate and others.

The highest-ranked schools are those whose students “demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math and reading state assessments, passed a diverse array of college-level exams [and] graduated in high proportions,” according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 rankings methodology.

To get its ranking, a school’s scores were weighed “then transformed so that each eligible school receives an overall percentile score between zero and 100,” with the top school scoring a perfect 100.
