A West Jones High School artist will have one of her works on display at the U.S. Capitol for a year.

Katlin Clark won the 4th District Congressional Art Competition by receiving the most votes on her drawing, "Southern Child," on Rep. Steven Palazzo's Facebook page.

"This year we had a record participation of over 140 pieces of exceptional art, and I’m extremely proud of all of our South Mississippi students who participated in the art competition," Palazzo said in a press release.

All of the artwork can still be viewed in the virtual gallery
