Reform Party candidate for Congress arrested in Hattiesburg

The Reform Party candidate in the District 4 congressional race has been arrested, a Hattiesburg TV station reported today.

Eli "Sarge" Jackson came to the Hattiesburg Police Department to file charges against someone else when police discovered there was an outstanding warrant against Jackson on a simple domestic violence charge, WDAM reported on its website.

Police told WDAM the charge involved Jackson's daughter but couldn't provide further details. He apparently is free on a $1,000 bond.

Jackson is challenging Rep. Steven Palazzo for his seat. Independents Cindy Burleson and Ed Reich and Democrat Matt Moore also are in the race.
