Eight out of 10 Americans think Congress is out of touch, almost seven in 10 think it's focused on special interests, and more than half say the institution is corrupt, according to a Gallup poll released today.
But when it comes to their member of Congress? That's a different story. Fewer than half think their member is out of touch or focused on special interests. And just over a quarter believe their congressman is corrupt.
The poll in 1994 found 75 percent thought Congress was out of touch. That dipped to 69 percent in 2006 and went back up to 77 percent in 2006.
