Democratic chief says only his party can stop 'Tea Party extremism'

Rickey Cole didn't waste much time finding and upside for Mississippi Democrats in the defeat of GOP House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in Virginia.

His Wednesday morning email (subject line: No one can stop them but us) portrays the Democrats as the last line of defense against "Tea Party extremism."

"The next two years are pivotal to the future of our great state," he writes. "Click here to invest all that you can today to help Mississippi Democrats turn back the Wingnut Wave!"

And, if you thought the Mississippi race was only going to get wilder with the ouster of Cantor, consider this. In Cantor's old district, both Republican Dave Brat, who beat Cantor on Tuesday, and Democrat Jack Trammel are professors, a special kind of American prone to saying exactly what's on their minds.

They've already found a Hitler reference among Brat's writings.

Buckle up.
