Coming Sunday

This Sunday in the Sun Herald:

State Rep. J.P. Compretta is calling it quits after 32 years in the House. Colleagues from both sides of the aisle say this will be a loss to South Mississippi and the state. Compretta is one of the most powerful and longest service lawmakers we've had, but friends and colleagues say he's also an all-'round nice guy.

The Political Buzz:

* The Harrison County sheriff's race is heating up (big story by Robin Fitzgerald to follow on Monday)

* The Coast TEA Party is pushing a ballot initiative for 2012 elections

* A Demcratic candidate for a state Senate seat has withdrawn

Geoff Pender column: Will the TEA Party have an impact on this year's state elections?
