Coast gubernatorial forum set

Coast Young Professionals, Gulf Coast Business Council, the Sun Herald, WLOX and USM are having a gubernatorial candidates forum on June 29, but I'm hearing the presumptive frontrunner, Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant is not going to attend because of a scheduling conflict.

I'm waiting for confirmation from Bryant's campaign whether that's the case, but if it is, that's a bummer.

But otherwise, at least nine of the 11 candidates for governor have committed to be there.

The event will be: 7 p.m., June 29 (Wed.), at the Fleming Advanced Education Center at the University of Southern Mississippi, Gulf-Park campus in Long Beach. It is open to the public and admission is free.

I understand the format will be a forum more than a debate, and questions will be gathered beforehand from the public by the Sun Herald -- more details on how to submit questions will be coming later.

Hope to see you there!
