The only thing sprouting up in some bone-dry neighborhoods around Bay St. Louis are campaign signs, the small kind supported by spindly wire legs. In one area where sheriff candidate Ray Murphy lives, the signs seem to branch off from his yard to his neighbors' yards, down one block and then the next.
The signs must have caught the eye of other candidates because new signs have started showing up on vacant corner lots and in front yards along the Murphy sign trail.
The most eye catching campaign sign - that is to say large and prominent - surely belongs to Dave Dennis. It stands on the vacant lot at Main Street and Beach Boulevard, across from Hancock Bank.
No challengers have broached the site as yet.
